This month, I’m participating in a Five Minute Friday challenge called “31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes,” responding to a one-word prompt for five minutes each day in October. Click here to join in!
Sometimes I wonder why God does things. I don’t tend to ask Him why I’m going through difficult times; I know that they are part of the consequences of the Fall of Man and that God will use trials for my good.
I just get curious: Why did God create a universe that is so expansive we can’t even comprehend it? Why did He allow us to put men on the moon? Why do we have different seasons?
Why do I have to get outside my comfort zone to grow? Why are people so hard to trust? Why did God create me with a mental illness–how is He going to use me to touch others with similar struggles? Why has my head been hurting for almost five years–how can I encourage others who deal with chronic pain?
Why hasn’t God told me what I should do with the rest of my life? Why don’t we know the date of our deaths?
