Day 5: Sharing Life Together
This post was written for the weekly Five Minute Friday blog linkup. Each week, writers respond to a one-word prompt by writing for five minutes, then share their unedited writing with each other. Click here to join the fun!
This week’s prompt: Share.
One of my favorite things about being at a Bible college is the way I get to live life together with other believers. We share everything: our rooms, our staplers, a bathroom, a laundry room, classrooms, friends, professors, a table at meals, and countless similar experiences. We share our joys and our struggles and support each other.
Yesterday my roommate shared flashcards she had made so I could study for a midterm exam. I like to share my stash of Hershey’s Kisses when people need encouragement. My accountability partner and I share how we are adjusting to college life after being homeschooled.
In this community, we share common general goals: follow Christ, reach the lost, serve the Church, be the hands and feet of Jesus. Some of us also share specific goals: become a youth pastor, move to a foreign country to do missions, work at a local church, counsel people who are struggling.
I love all the things we share as we live life together here.
