This week’s prompt: One.
“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10 ESV
This has to be one of the hardest commandments in the Bible. Divisions are rampant among people today, and sadly, the Church is no exception. Denominational lines, theological disagreements, and variations in biblical interpretation can cause rifts between brothers and sisters in Christ.
What can we do about it? God is teaching me how to focus on the essential issues of our faith and not get caught up in details and opinions. I’m learning more than ever about the intricacies of theology and church doctrines, but at the same time, I’m discovering that I can be united with my fellow believers who disagree with me on some of these matters.
