This month, I’m participating in a Five Minute Friday challenge called “31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes,” responding to a one-word prompt for five minutes each day in October. Click here to join in!
What I see as common and ordinary might be a gift from God. Maybe He’s trying to speak to me through it. Maybe He wants me to use it as an opportunity.
For example, my cozy bed, the view out our 10th-floor window, and the trees I walk by in the plaza are gifts from the One from whom all good things come. Maybe the advice given to me by a friend is God’s message for me today. Perhaps when I go to Walgreens, the Holy Spirit is ready to speak through me to encourage an employee or share the gospel with a fellow customer.
I want to start looking for God in the ordinary and the everyday. I want to see how He is showing Himself all around me, all the time. I know my life would be filled with more joy and gratitude if I recognized the intentionality with which my Lord orchestrates the details of my life.
