This week’s prompt: Vacation.
When I think of vacation, I tend to remember all the trips my family has taken to various parts of the country and the world. We have had many adventures, difficulties, and good times making memories as we travel.
This summer, vacation looks a bit different for me. I’m kind of between worlds—I’m no longer a high school student, but I haven’t started college yet. I have these few months to work and relax and prepare before launching into a brand-new, exciting, scary, important season of life.
Much of my time is spent working various jobs, but I also have time to sit with a good book, write a blog post, or play a game with my siblings. I have time to make my college shopping list and find supplies I’ll need when I move to school.
Summer vacation this year is a time for me to recharge and get ready for a new adventure. God is preparing me to meet new people and learn new things in a completely new environment. I also have time to process all the emotions that come with this transition—excitement, sadness, and fear. I’m so thankful God gave me this break between two seasons of life.
