This week’s prompt: Balance.
“You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act.” -Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You’ll Go
These words have never been more true in my life than they are now. There seem to be an increasing number of factors in my life that need to be juggled, balanced, maintained. School, job search, friendships, church, family, friendships at home, extra events I find myself interested in.
I’ve been mixed up with many “strange birds:” overcommitment, exhaustion, conflict, anxiety, off-days. However, I am slowly learning to succeed at this Great Balancing Act. I am learning to say yes to some things and no to many, to prioritize, to take time to breathe in the midst of it all.
