This week’s prompt: Deep.
“Deep and wide, deep and wide, there’s a fountain flowing deep and wide…”
Did this song make any sense to you as a kid? I definitely didn’t understand these words we sang in Sunday school.
As it turns out, this song is talking about the love of God. I don’t usually picture it as a fountain, but more like an ocean or a tidal wave. God’s love is as deep and wide as an ocean, and we can throw ourselves into it, but we don’t drown–somehow we are still able to breathe when surrounded by this overwhelming force.
God’s love is like a wave that crashes over us continuously, never inexhaustible and incomprehensible. Let it wash over you and remind you that you have a Father who cares deeply about you.
